Zylofone Media has announced that it will collaborate with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) on a number of projects for the development of the music industry in Ghana. The Head of Communications of Zylofone Media, Samuel Baah Atuobi aka Sammy Flex said this when the leadership of the MUSIGA paid a courtesy call on the media organization.

According to Sammy Flex, the projects are Kumi Guitar and the Legends annual concert and a series of educational programs for players in the music industry. He indicated that these are some of the projects which Zylofone Media intends to use to engage key industry players like MUSIGA.

With regards to welfare issues, Sammy Flex expressed the preparedness of Zylofone to engage MUSIGA in practical ways of supporting the Union’s Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund (AMWeF).

The President of MUSIGA congratulated the C.E.O of Zylofone Media Nana Appiah Mensah for his bold initiative and investments in the creative arts in general and the music industry in particular. He indicated that the Union will support them in all their endeavors aimed at improving the lot of musicians, the music industry and ultimately the nation. He indicated that a success for Zylofone will have a huge impact on the industry, thereby encouraging other corporate bodies to emulate their example.

The MUSIGA President also commended Zylofone for their donation to veteran singer Jewel Ackah and support for other artistes. He briefed the meeting on the activities of AMWeF. Expatiating on the issue of welfare, the 2nd Vice President of MUSIGA, Bessa Simons called on musicians to support the welfare systems in place for members. He welcomed the idea for collaborations with Zylofone to organize fund raising concerts to support the veteran musicians.

The A & R Manager of Zylofone, Willi Roi noted that the music industry requires vibrant organizations to make it thrive and described the entrée of Zylofon as a complementary one to the work of organizations such as MUSIGA and the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) which have been the pillars of the industry in Ghana.

Present at the meeting were officials of Zylofone Media including Willi Roi A & R Manager for music and Eddie Nartey, A & R Manager for movies. The MUSIGA delegation included Chizzy Wailer, National Organizer, Ras Caleb Appiah Levi, Greater Accra regional branch chairman; Rev Fiifi Khan Agyarkwah, Administrator; Richmond Adu-Poku, Head of Business Development and Membership and Ahuma Bosco Ocansey, Director of Communications and Special Projects.
