Being the ‘Queen of Red Carpets’ does not come easy, and Nana Akua Addo continues to pull all the stop to maintain that status. Over the weekend the Ghanaian fashion enthusiast was an instant hit on social media with her breath-taking outfit for the 5th Glitz Style Awards.
The infamous ‘bird dress’ is a creation of Philipino designer, who has been dubbed as the ‘Master Couturier’ in the fashion world. Cary Santiago is an international designer whose gowns have been worn by the First Family of the Philippines, Beyonce, Fergie, Miss Universe contestants and some of the very elite in every corner of the world.
His works ain’t cheap and have a price range between 8,000 to 10,000 dollars (55,011 Ghana cedis).
It usually takes four people and seven days to make a Cary Santiago gown.
Nana Akua Addo’s gown was one of the designs he displayed at the TernoCon 2018 Fashion Show in the Philipines.
In an interview with Pulse Ghana, Nana Akua Addo revealed what inspired her to wear this very expensive gown.
“Most of these fashion icons are now representing themselves through animals. Animals they feel have connections with how powerful they are. Beyoncé recently did it and it was a lion. I have done it. It is the eagle.”
