Think Big on TBS

Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) is set to bring back to life ‘The Notorious B.I.G’ once again in the form of a scripted series. Following the 2009 Notorious biopic, Biggie’s life and lyrics will be loosely incorporated in ‘Think B.I.G’, a series that will chronicle the misadventures of an inner-city teen desperately trying to create a better future for his daughter and infant son.

According to Variety, the upcoming project will be produced and created by Mass Appeal. The production company is teaming up with Biggie’s mom Voletta Wallace and Wayne Barrow of Bystorm Films. Bystorm Films and Notorious B.I.G., LLC were represented by Julian Petty of Nixon Peabody LLP.

Biggie’s mom and Wayne were also behind the Notorious film, so we know this will be done right!

TBS is also bringing another series that we’re sure many pop culture fans will appreciate. “Storyville” is a 10-episode digital animated series that will feature funny, absurd, and weird stories straight from the mouths of top celebrities. The series will feature musicians, actors, comedians, writers and artists where they will tell true life stories, which will be animated to expose the sheer absurdity of celebrity life.

“‘Storyville’ and ‘Think B.I.G.’ speak to the types of projects we will cultivate with Mass Appeal moving forward,” said Brett Weitz, executive vice president of original programming for TBS. “Mass Appeal is a leader in developing unique stories with diverse voices. There’s no better partner for us to connect with this vibrant, impassioned audience.”

“Storyville” will premiere this fall across TBS digital and social platforms. No word yet on when “Think B.I.G.” will hit the small screen, but we’ll keep you posted.
