Popcaan reveals why Drake signed him onto OVO Sounds

Mettlesome Jamaican dancehall demigod Popcaan is indeed traveling faster than speed and a touch bearer holding the banner of dancehall high has revealed why Canadian protean rapper Drake signed him to OVO Sound Record Label. He disclosed, a lot of his friends from Canada were around Drake always telling him about his music. But the bulk of emotions, experience, storylines, message and style poured on Popcaan’s “Eye Changing” mixtape, arrested and locked down Drake to connect with him more on a deeper music level.

Because he could relate to the vibes Unruly boss unleashed on the tape, he started monitoring him afterwards. Popcaan followed up with another seasoning banger “Only Man She Want” that song sparked Drake’s interest. He couldn’t help than to tweet lines from the song; an indirect interests in a coded language.

Drake later reached out to Popcaan for a party, unfortunate he couldn’t honor the invitation due to situations beyond his control. That didn’t stop the Canadian rapper to meet favorite Jamaican music genius in person.

“OVO is straight up family because Drake was the one that said OVO Unruly,” adding that “Drake has me as Drizzy Drake in Jamaica. So when I view Drake as a young youth that is doing well in the game it’s the same way I view myself too” he said this in an interview in on 96.1 WEFM a Jamaican based radio station in 2015. The multiple award winning rapper announced, “Silence” hit maker “2019 finally, officially signed to OVO” at Unruly Festival in Jamaica 22/12/2018.
