Adaklu Dawanu receives Water from SWISS Angels Foundation

Swiss Angels Foundation, an NGO located in the North Dayi District of the Volta Region has in just a year of its establishment done many projects that seek to touch the lives of various institutions, communities and individuals.

The foundation aims at helping the underprivileged and needy in various communities around the country. This foundation focuses as well on the needs of women and children hence their visit to the Children’s Ward of Anfoega Catholic Hospital, some basic schools in the North Dayi and Afadjato South Districts, including Eugemot Orphanage at Ve-Koloenu last year.

On 21st June 2018, Swiss Angels Foundation commissioned its new and first project of the year at Adaklu Dawanu. The project which cost over Ghc40,000 is a mechanized borehole which is to end the water crisis at Adaklu Dawanu.

Adaklu Dawanu is a community in the Adaklu District of the Volta Region. The community gets water for domestic use from a nearby stream called “Dawa, ” a stream from which animals such as cattle and goats drink. The people have over the years been crying for a good source of drinking water and Swiss Angels Foundation came to their aid.

During the commissioning of the project, the representative of the District Chief Executive urged the community to take good care of the water and ensure that they cultivate the culture of maintenance in order to make sure that the project lasts long. He showed appreciation to Swiss Angels Foundation and prayed that they continued the good work started by them.

The co-founder of the foundation, Mr. Francis Daffor expressed his warmest gratitude to the people of Dawanu for their cooperation towards the success of the project. He thanked Mr. Hayford Amlado the C.E.O of Lizford Drilling Company for completing the project on time. He promised the community of the foundation’s support any time they are in need.

The chief of the community, Torgbe Gati expressed their deepest appreciation to the foundation on behalf of the people. “We never knew this was a serious project because many NGO’s came to us with promises but couldn’t fulfill them” he added. He assured the foundation of their readiness to take proper care of the water. He pleaded with the foundation to help them construct a toilet facility which is one of the pressing needs of the community.

Mr. Hayford Amlado on his part thanked the foundation for helping the community and making his work easy. He also asked the people to take good care of the machine.

The foundation gave some pens to school children and the community. The whole community was full of appreciation.
