Award-winning Ghanaian Dancehall Singjay, Jupitar, has disclosed on Hitz 103.9fm that a collabo with celebrated Jamaican Dancehall Maestro, Vybz Kartel, would mean a major breakthrough for him.

In his own words, he says “…will love to do a collabo with Vybz Kartel. But unfortunately he is in prison. But my dream is to feature him and Mavado. These two people break the records when it comes to Dancehall. Bounty Killer and Beenie Man did well in their prime but Vybz Kartel and Mavado shot it to higher heights”, he intimated.

ON GHANA MUSIC & GLOBAL MARKET:
“Ghanaian music is struggling on the global front. I can’t sit on radio and tell lies or say what is not true. I wish Ghanaian music will be at the top but the sad truth is that our music is stagnant at the top. Our neighboring countries artistes like Diamond Platinumz are at the top. I love what Mark Okraku Mantey said the other day”, Jupitar explained.

Jupitar spoke extensively on the show by also saying that, the support of industry and fans (more) is what is needed to take Ghana music to higher heights. He says, “Ghanaians put up shows and just few people show up but when non-Ghanaian put up shows we all show up there. We need to support our own more.”

ON HIS OUTLOOK:
“For an artiste to be accepted everywhere you need to look good. Appearances are very important and I take that seriously. Not necessarily having a lot of money to buy expensive clothes but you have to look presentable.”

ON HIS COLLABO WITH PATORANKING:
“He’s been a very close link from way back. I would say he is my right hand man. The strategy was to conquer the Nigerian market. I want to be heard out there. It’s good to get the Nigerians and other African countries support our Ghanaian music so I’m doing the best to get out there.”

Jupitar was on #DayBreakHitz with KMJ on Hitz 103.9fm on Friday, February 24.
